The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism is inviting fimmakers aged 7-18 to submit entries for the Southeast Asia Prix Jeunesse Video Festival and Competition under the theme "Everyday Heroes". Appeal for donations for monks' meeting

Merit makers and devotees are invited to help support a meeting of monks in Chanthabouly district by donating offerings, food and drinks. The meeting, called Ouposothsangkhakham, will be attended by more than 400 monks from the district, who will review their work and discuss plans for the rest of Lent. This type of meeting is only held during Lent and each district does so every 15 days. The event will also feature Dhamma preaching and receipt of donations. When: August 11. Bike caravan

The Lao Front for National Development invites all cyclists to mark the 68th anniversary of the Front. Participants will receive a free breakfast and t-Shirt. Lao-Thai contemporary art exhibition

Everyone is invited to an exhibition of contemporary arts by Lao and Thai artists. The event displays 127 items including paintings in acrylic and watercolour and pottery created by more than 120 artists. Photo exhibition

The Lao Front for National Development Centre is holding a photo exhibition featuring pictures that depict unity in Laos, the ethnic policy in action, and the generosity of the Lao people in assisting floodstricken communities. Contemporary art show

This exhibition showcases more than 50 contemporary artworks by Lao, Thai and Vietnamese artists. Titled "Mekong Arts Friendship Exhibition", it features watercolour, acrylic, and oil paintings by nine artists, whose cultural diversity shines through.
