Virus taskforce issues advice for returning schoolchildren

The National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Controlhas issued guidelines for parents and teachers when kindergartens and other schools reopen on June 2.
Speaking at the daily media briefing on Saturday, Deputy Minister of Health, Associate Professor Dr Phouthone Muongpak, asked parents andteachers to make sure children were aware of the practices they needed to follow to stay safe from Covid-19.

He advised them to teach schoolchildren about good hygiene and the need for cleanliness, checking their temperature, and wearing face masks.
If any child had a high temperature, he or she should not go to school.
Although there have been no new confirmed cases of Covid-19 for 48 consecutive days, there is still a risk of another outbreak if people do notcontinue to strictly follow government guidelines to prevent the possible spread of the virus.
The risk will be reduced if everyone wears a face mask and maintains good hygiene practices to keep the virus at bay.
There are now only three people who test positive for Covid-19 in Mittaphab Hospital. They will be discharged when they return two negative tests for the virus.
Meanwhile, life across the country is returning to normal and concerns over the virus are waning with the continuing absence of new infections.
As of 5 pm on May 29 a total of 2,478 people entering Laos from Thailand, Vietnam and China had been tested for Covid-19.
The government has set up 70 quarantine centres across the country where 6,432 people are now staying, with no infections reported.
As of 6 pm on May 28, the coronavirus had spread to 213 countries and territories, with 6,019,971 million confirmed cases globally. The virus has killed 366,284 people, while people 2,655,228 have recovered from illness.
