President to visit China, Vietnam

Party Secretary General and President Thongloun Sisoulith will lead a high-level delegation to attend the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit scheduled to take place on August 31 - September 1 in Tianjin in northen China.
The Lao leader’s planned attendance to the summit was made at the invitation of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President Xi Jinping, the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
Duiring the visit, President Thongloun was also scheduled to attend a commemoration event to mark the 80th anniversary of victory in the anti-fascist war and continue to pay a working visit to China from September 3-6.
Secretary General Thongloun and his delegation are also scheduled to visit Vietnam to attend a grand event to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam National Day to take place on September 2 in Hanoi, at the invitation of his Vietnamnese counterpart, Mr To Lam.
