Lao PDR Clean Energy Day 2026 to promote Laos’ energy transition
Policymakers, industry leaders, development partners and private-sector representatives will gather in Vientiane on September 3 for Lao PDR Clean Energy Day 2026, an event aimed at promoting dialogue and cooperation on the future of clean energy in Laos.
The high-level event will explore key issues shaping the country’s energy transition, including renewable energy development, clean energy investment and regional energy connectivity.
Clean Energy Day 2026 is organised by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in partnership with EnergyLab Asia, with support from the Australian Government through the Mekong-Australia Partnership (MAP), as part of efforts to advance sustainable economic development and strengthen cooperation in Laos’ energy sector.
Building on discussions from last year’s event, which focused on green investment opportunities, the expansion of solar and wind power, and cross-border energy connectivity, this year’s gathering will focus on advancing practical solutions to accelerate clean energy development in Laos.
Representatives from the government, energy sector, development partners and private sector will discuss both opportunities and challenges in supporting Laos’ transition towards a cleaner, more sustainable and resilient energy system.
The organisers say the event will build on the momentum generated through previous discussions, strengthen cooperation among key stakeholders and identify practical pathways for expanding clean energy investment and development in Laos.
The event is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to exchange knowledge, explore emerging opportunities and strengthen partnerships that can contribute to Laos’ long-term sustainable energy development.
