National Assembly VP calls for unity among citizens and Lao-origin people abroad
The Vice President of the National Assembly, Mrs Sounthone Xayyachack, warmly welcomed Lao-origin people from abroad during their visit to their motherland and emphasised the importance of unity among them and the citizens of Laos.

Mrs Sounthone expressed appreciation for the Lao-origin people living overseas, whom the Lao government considers essential members of the nation.
She acknowledged their role in fostering friendship and cooperation between Laos and the countries they reside in. The Lao-origin people abroad are valued as vital contributors to the nation’s progress and prosperity.
Mrs Sounthone highlighted the government’s policy of encouraging overseas Lao-origin people to engage with the nation’s development efforts. She noted that the National Assembly has implemented policies and enacted legislation to ensure that Lao-origin people living abroad are informed about and supportive of government initiatives.
Every year, more Lao-origin people return to the country contribute their skills in fields such as business and consulting, further boosting Laos’ economic growth, Mrs Sounthone observed.
On behalf of the National Assembly and all Lao citizens, Mrs Sounthone expressed deep appreciation for the past contributions of the people of Lao origin living abroad and encouraged them to maintain their cultural heritage and to support each other.
She called for continued unity and commitment to build a prosperous future for Laos, with everyone contributing according to their capacity.
