LXML provides 525m kip to support health screenings in Vilabouly

Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) has contributed more than 525 million kip to support comprehensive health screenings for residents of seven villages surrounding the Sepon Gold and Copper Mine in Vilabouly district, Savannakhet province, reinforcing its continued commitment to community health and sustainable development.

The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Vilabouly District Health Office and Vilabouly District Hospital under the 2026 Health Impact Assessment (HIA) programme.
The programme aims to monitor community health trends, promote early detection of potential health risks, and support improved access to healthcare services for local residents.

Health screening activities were conducted from March 20 to  April 10 by a team of medical specialists using modern medical equipment.
Some 405 residents from seven villages (Na Then Hia, Na Kachan, Xieng Lae, Na Ke, Mai Na Meng, Na Pho, and Nam Kheun Nai) participated. This included 87 children under five years old, and 318 people aged between 6 and 70 years, including adolescents, adults, and elderly community members.
The screenings included blood tests for kidney function, liver function, and lipid profiles, as well as urinalysis, stool examinations, electrocardiograms, and chest X-rays for residents aged 60 and above.
These examinations are designed to support early identification of health issues and enable timely advice, treatment, or referral where required.
In addition to providing direct health screening services, the programme will contribute to the development of a 2026 community health database, which will be compared with baseline data collected in 2025.
The findings will help the public health sector strengthen preventive healthcare planning, provide appropriate health guidance, and improve community understanding of medical and public health issues.
The initiative reflects LXML’s long-term commitment to supporting public health and improving the quality of life in Vilabouly district.
By working closely with local authorities and healthcare providers, LXML continues to support practical programmes that promote safer, healthier, and more sustainable communities around the Sepon Gold and Copper Mine.
