Ministry of Industry and Commerce, AIDC Tech to modernise digital trade

​The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has entered into a partnership with AIDC Tech to develop the Digital Trade Operating Platform (DTOP) and advance digital transformation within the sector.
​The signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on cooperation for development and modernised system services of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (DTOP), and the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the feasibility study for the implementation of the digital transformation plan took place in Vientiane on May 7, 2026.
​The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr Santiphab Phomvihane; Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr Malaythong Kommasith; and Minister of Public Works and Transport, Mr Leklai Sivilay.
Senior ministry officials, private sector representatives, and technology experts were also present.
​During the ceremony, the President of AIDC, Mr Pheutsapha Phoummasak, presented the vision for the DTOP project. The platform is designed to upgrade management systems, monitor imports and exports, and manage trade data and distribution.
​The system aims to ensure transparency and provide comprehensive data integration for the ministry.
​The ceremony also marked the launch of "DTOP Service Stations". These hubs will serve as digital service centres  for business operators and investors, facilitating access to trade information and government online services through modern technology.
​The partnership is a significant step in implementing the government’s digital transformation policy. It aims to improve administrative efficiency, enhance data security, and integrate digital workflows across the public sector.
​Both parties expressed confidence that the collaboration will build a strong foundation for digital infrastructure and human resource development. The initiative is expected to streamline public services, making them faster and more transparent in line with regional and international standards.
​The move reflects the Ministry of Industry and Commerce’s commitment to digital governance, boosting the nation’s capacity to support economic growth, trade, and investment in the digital era.
