“This is not just a regular app launch; it is the introduction of a new innovation that connects the traditional Lao gold business with international standards, offering speed, convenience, and security through mobile technology,” he said.
To ensure high levels of user safety, the Lao Bullion Bank has invested US$2 million in the app’s security infrastructure. LBB PLUS features advanced identity verification systems, including AI-powered e-KYC and biometric authentication (fingerprint and facial recognition).
The app is locked to a single device per user, preventing unauthorised access even in the event of password theft.
The app has been certified by key government bodies, including the Bank of the Lao PDR, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and the Ministry of Technology and Communications.
It also integrates a real-time international gold price feed and maintains physical gold reserves, enabling customers to withdraw gold on demand.
Dr Chanthone also shared the bank’s performance to date, revealing that in the past eight months the Lao Bullion Bank has opened over 4,000 gold deposit accounts with a cumulative gold volume exceeding one tonne.
“To make our services more accessible and convenient, we have created this mobile gold bank, the LBB PLUS app, enabling customers to manage gold investments anytime, anywhere,” he said.
With the launch of LBB PLUS, the Lao Bullion Bank positions itself at the forefront of digital transformation in the Lao finance sector, merging the cultural heritage of gold with the latest in fintech innovation.
The app is now available for download across mobile platforms, providing users with a seamless, secure, and modern way to participate in the growing gold economy.
