KOTRA Vientiane concludes Laos K-Food Trade Mission 2025
The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Vientiane has successfully concluded the Laos K-Food Trade Mission 2025, which took place from September 5 to 7 in cooperation with Kok Kok Mega Mart, one of the country’s leading retail platforms.
The mission attracted strong interest from the Lao public, drawing 2,525 visitors over two days and underscoring the growing appeal of Korean agri-food products in the local market.
A total of eight Korean companies travelled to Laos to participate in the mission, demonstrating their confidence in the country’s growth potential. Their participation not only provided an opportunity to introduce their products directly to Lao buyers and consumers but also allowed them to gain valuable first-hand insights into consumer preferences and market trends, which will be important in shaping future business strategies.

The programme opened on September 5 with a business-to-business export consultation session at the Holiday Inn Vientiane, beginning with a seminar that outlined the current economic outlook of Laos, logistics conditions, and procurement practices of major distribution companies.
This was followed by one-on-one consultations in which the eight participating Korean firms met directly with leading Lao distribution companies.
A total of 22 Lao companies attended, and 62 individual consultations were conducted, enabling in-depth discussions on trade opportunities and laying the groundwork for stronger business cooperation between the two countries. The session was widely regarded as an important milestone in fostering Korea-Laos collaboration through private enterprise.
On September 6 and 7 the mission moved into its consumer-focused phase with the “Kok Kok M: Laos Korea Food Fiesta”, held at the Kok Kok Mega Mart.
The event was honoured by the presence of several distinguished guests, including the Director General of KOTRA Vientiane, Mr Jungwe Park; CEO of Nexus Sole Co., Ltd, Mr Wanchai Manadee; CEO of KLD Computer Co., Ltd, Mr Worawass Nakpan; CEO of Lanxang Media Co.,Ltd, Mr Anourak Klinhom; CEO of Grandview property CO.,Ltd, Jakkapong wangtaphaun; Head of the Sisattanak District Administration Office., Mrs Thongmy Daosouk.
The event was organised into several themed zones that provided a wide range of experiences for visitors.
The Showcase Zone featured 115 items from 33 Korean companies that had been selected under KOTRA’s Laos K-Agriculture Market Entry Support Programme.
The Sales Zone included eight booths operated by the participating Korean companies, where consumers had the chance to sample and purchase food products.
The Food Zone offered 26 booths serving a variety of Korean and Lao dishes, while the Stage Programme kept audiences engaged with product presentations, interactive quiz shows, cooking show , and a K-pop dance competition.
Sponsor booths highlighted the contributions of BNK Capital Lao Leasing, LK GROUP, SOLUTEK & Honghong and Indochina Bank, and KB Kolao Leasing.
The closing ceremony of the mission included a special awards presentation to recognise outstanding sales performance.
“Best Seller” certificates were awarded to the top three Korean companies with the highest sales during the event and to the top three Lao buyers who had operated booths and achieved notable results.
The Korean winners were BADABON Co., Ltd as the winner, PATHFINDER Inc. as the first runner-up, and Bio Polytech Co., Ltd as the second runner-up.
These awards not only celebrated the achievements of individual participants but also reflected the tangible outcomes of the event in generating real business results and fostering stronger commercial partnerships between Korea and Laos.
Speaking at the conclusion of the event, the Director General of KOTRA Vientiane, Mr Jungwe Park, expressed his deep appreciation to Kok Kok Mega Mart, Nexus Sole Co., Ltd., Lao buyers, and the Korean companies that travelled to Laos with confidence in the market, as well as to the local consumers whose enthusiastic participation contributed greatly to the success of the mission.
He emphasised that the Laos K-Food Trade Mission 2025 was highly meaningful as it provided not only opportunities for business exploration, but also direct engagement with consumers, creating practical outcomes that will strengthen future cooperation.
