The 9th National Congress of Lao Women’s Delegates opens in Vientiane on Tuesday. The meeting is chaired by the President of the Lao Women’s Union, Ms Aly Vongnorbountham, and attended by Vice President Bounthong Chitmany, who is a Politburo member and Standing Member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, along with other government leaders. Delegates will review and endorse the summary and evaluation of the implementation of the resolution adopted at the 8th National Congress of Lao Women’s Delegates for the period 2021-2025. They will also consider and approve the Lao Women’s Development Plan for 2026-2030.

Officials from Laos’ Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution at Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Tuesday gather for a three-day training session in Vientiane to improve the work of Lao government officials employed in these sectors as well as the operations of printing businesses.

Officials from the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Department (MSME) of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) on Monday attend a project steering committee meeting to hear a report on the outcomes of a project on human resources development for digital innovative MSMEs taking place from 2023-2025.

The Prudential Life Assurance Lao Company Limited (“Prudential Laos”) organised a coffee event at the head offices of the Lao Press in Foreign Languages (Vientiane Times) and the Paxason Newspaper on Tuesday. The event was aimed at promoting cooperation between the company and the two key media outlets of Laos.

The Vientiane Times, in collaboration with Phomsouwan Secondary School and My Dream Boutique Resort in Luang Prabang province, on September 5 donates educational and sports equipment to primary and secondary schools in Xiengngeun district in the northern province. The donated items, worth 35 million kip, were given to schools in Phoukhua, Kiewchaluang and Houayhia villages and Xiengngeun and Houaykhang secondary schools.
