The 9th National Congress of Lao Women’s Delegates ends on Wednesday after reviewing work carried out in recent years and outlining plans for 2026-2030. Participants also endorsed revised regulations and set out a vision for activities until 2035 in line with the overall development strategy.

The Ambassador of Thailand to Laos, Ms Morakot Sriswasdi, also attended the welcome ceremony. The visit aimed to publicise the International Horticultural Expo 2026, which will be staged in Udon Thani province from November 2026 to March 2027 at Nong Dae Wetland in Mueang district. The Expo will serve to bolster economic growth, stimulate tourism, and create new opportunities for people in Laos and Thailand while strengthening cooperation within ASEAN.
