Agricultural experts from Laos, Cambodia and Australia meet at the Cambodian Agricultural Research and Development Institute to review the progress of an ACIAR and University of Queensland programme on weed management in rice production systems in Laos and Cambodia. Experts shared methods of weed control, visited multiple demonstration sites and met with farmers involved in the project. Effective weed management reduces labour and herbicide use and helps increase the yields and quality of rice, creating opportunities for entry into high-value markets. In November 2025, the project will organise an exchange visit for the Cambodian research team to Laos, to be hosted by Laos’ National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute. --Australia in Laos |
