Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Saleumxay Kommasith, on Tuesday hands over his role as foreign minister to the Head of the External Relations Committee of the Party Central Committee, Mr Thongsavanh Phomvihane. Director General of the Planning and International Cooperation Department, Office of the Supreme People’s Prosecutor of Laos, Mr Soutsaka Bounmanit, on Monday meets with the Director of the Department of International Law and Cooperation of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, Ms Ekaterina Kudelich, to negotiate the draft of the Lao-Russian Convention on International Criminal Cooperation. The two justice officials and their delegations discussed the obligations of international cooperation in criminal matters, the scope of application, the drafting and content of requests, the execution of requests, the collection of evidence, the provision of information, documents and objects, and the seizure, freezing and confiscation of property and objects.
