President of the Lao Front for National Development, Mr Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune (centre right), on Saturday stands by a statue of President Kaysone Phomvihane in Kaysone Phomvihane city, Savannakhet province, to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the birth of President Kaysone Phomvihane in the town where he was born and is named in his honour. The Governor of Savannakhet province, Mr Bounchom Ubonpaseuth, and other officials were also present at the ceremony.

The Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to the Kingdom of Thailand on December 9 organised a ceremony in Bangkok to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975 – December 2, 2025), attended by more than 800 guests from government agencies, the diplomatic corps, international organisations, and the business and private sectors. A total of 225 disabled athletes from around the country, together with trainers and referees, take part in the opening ceremony of the 4th National Disabled Games at the National University of Laos in Vientiane on Sunday. The Games are taking place from December 14-19.
