Lao football team departs for Spanish training camp

The Lao national football team, Head Coach Mike Wong Mun Heng and officials left the country on Thursday for Barcelona in Spain, to take part in a training camp.
As part of their preparations for international competition later this year, the team will face the United Arab Emirates in a friendly on Tuesday.
Following the friendly match, the team will travel to contest the Bangabandhu Gold Cup 2018 in Bangladesh from October to 1-12. The competition will feature six countries with Group A comprising Nepal, Palestine and Tajikistan and Group B consisting of Bangladesh, Laos and the Philippines.  
Laos will then play host to visiting Mongolia for a friendly match in the capital on October 16 before meeting Vietnam at the National Stadium in Vientiane on November 8 in the group stage of the 2018 Asean Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup.
Laos will play Malaysia away on November 12, welcome Myanmar in Vientiane on November 16, and take on Cambodia away on November 20.      
The AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 involves Asean countries competing from November 8 to December 15.
The Cup’s Group A comprises Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos while Group B consists of Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore.
