As of Sunday evening, football fans were still waiting on the result between Army FC and Vientiane United to determine the standings in Group B.
Eleven football clubs from across the capital have been taking part in Division 1 running from August 25 to October 20.
The competition was divided into Group A with DK FC, Trinity, STT, KP, EVO United and Police FC, along with Group B comprising Bounkeu Education School, Lao-Top College, Vientiane United, Baelao and Army FC.
This year’s Division 1 winner will again be promoted to next year’s Pepsi Lao Premier League with the LFF using its second-tier tournament to help develop emerging football talent. The federation provided financial support to each team competing in Division 1 this year.
An Army FC team was last year’s Division 1 champion qualifying them to play in Pepsi Lao Premier League 2018.
This year’s Division 1 champions will receive gold medals, a trophy and 30 million kip; second place will get silver medals and 20 million kip, and third place will take home bronze medals and 7 million kip. The comp’s top scorer will also be rewarded by the LFF.
