Asian youth leaders gather at the opening ceremony of the Asian Young Leaders Forum in Nansha district, Guangzhou province, China.

Asian youth forum boosts Laos-China cooperative relations

Guangzhou, China: The Asian Young Leaders Forum (AYLF) will help strengthen the cooperative relations, traditional friendship, and comprehensive strategic cooperative relations between Laos and China.
This was the message from the Vice President of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Lao Peace and Solidarity Commission, Mr Sommad Pholsena, when speaking at the opening ceremony of the forum in Nansha district, Guangzhou province, on Saturday.
He said he was confident that the two sides would play their respective roles and contribute to the building of a community of common destiny between the two parties, two governments and two peoples, and the concept of stable and long-term development along the direction of strong principles, so that relations between Laos and China will continue to deepen and bear fruit in all respects.
Vice Chairman of the 14th Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, and Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Mr Gao Yunlong, said Asia is becoming one of the most innovative regions in the world.
Young people are living through a period of vigorous innovation, and continued creativity is the future of scientific and technological innovation.
“We should seize the opportunities, address common challenges through opening-up and cooperation, promote sustainable development through scientific and technological innovation, and carry out extensive international exchanges and cooperation through project cooperation, personnel training and technical certification to enhance innovation factors and integration capacity, jointly maintain the stability of global industrial, supply and innovation chains, unleash the driving force of scientific and technological innovation, and promote sustained economic growth in Asia,” Mr Gao said.
He hoped that all young talents would actively respond to the initiative, carry forward the past and continue to work hard to be the inheritors, promoters, developers and creators of the Asian civilisation, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning, and on the basis of carrying forward the traditional civilisation, continue to absorb the essence of the times, use innovation to add impetus to the development of civilisation, stimulate the source of further civilisation, and continue to create more across time and space with eternal charm.
He also believed that young talents from all countries would stick to the right path and play the theme song of peace and development together. To maintain peace is an inescapable historical responsibility of every country and every young person, he said.
During the event, about 400 young people from Asian countries discussed topics including building technological cooperation, promoting high-quality development, enhancing healthcare, and spurring financial investment, technological innovation and entrepreneurship.
The forum is aimed at providing young leaders in Asia with a platform to share their ideas and cultures, strengthen friendship, and showcase their talents, while addressing key issues such as maintaining peace, promoting stability, and fostering prosperity and development in the region, said the President of the China Public Diplomacy Association, Mr Wu Hailong.
