Education ministry congratulates International School of Laos on win in USA-based International Olympiad

The Ministry of Education and Sports recently welcomed the International School of Laos to offer congratulations to the ISL Admin Team, especially to the four students who brought pride to Laos.
The ISL group met with Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Dr Sisouk Vongvichit, together with the Head of the General Department, Mrs Khampaseuth Kitingavong.
Dr Sisouk gave a warm speech thanking ISL and its students for winning bronze medals at the recently held Copernicus International Olympiad in New York City, USA.

The Deputy Minister also commended the globally competitive and innovative education and training system of the International School of Laos, producing highly capable and empowered young learners.
The Principal of ISL, Mr Ulvi Shirnov, said “We strongly believe there is no greater asset than today’s youth; that is why we strive to equip our students for the future. We sincerely appreciate Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Dr Sisouk Vongvichit and the Head of the General Department, Mrs Khampaseuth Kitingavong, for taking the time to congratulate and convey messages of encouragement to our students. We will seek to participate in more international competitions and are open to collaborating and bringing more opportunities to students in Laos.”
The International School of Laos is a certified Cambridge-recognised school with two campuses: the Nongbone Campus in Vientiane and the Pakxe Campus in Champassak province, which offer the primary and secondary Cambridge curriculum and IGCSE format of learning to support quality education.
Recently, the Cambridge Assessment International Education awarded 20 ISL students whose performances benchmarked A*, A, B and C (A*s-C in IGCSE Mathematics and Global Perspectives, A-C in IGCSE English as a Second Language and IGCSE Physics) in their International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examination.
ISL has been very active in establishing clubs at the school, such as the ISL Math Club, where they have already started preparing and honing students for a series of upcoming international Olympiads in which they may participate this academic year.
For the past 16 years, ISL has been known for opening up opportunities for its students as well as to other schools in the community and abroad.
These include annual events, competitions (Inter-School Math Olympiad (ISMO) and the International Streetball Tournament) and organising or joining international Olympiads in the USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam and more.
ISL aims to help every student to reach their maximum potential and experience the ISL way of developing globally competent students.
Parents are invited to prepare their children for a dynamic future and the International School of Laos welcomes all qualified Lao national and expatriate children.
