Companies donate money for disaster relief works

Several companies donated 13 billion kip and 800 million kip to Lao government’s representative and disaster management committee’s head Prime Minister Dr Sonexay Siphandone at his office in Vientiane on Tuesday.

The companies that donated are Xieng Khuang Trading Company (2 billion kip), Phongsubthavy Group Sole Company Limited (1.5 billion kip), Chaleun Sekong Energy Company Limited (1 billion kip), ST Group Company Limited (1 billion kip) and others.
The donation ceremony was witnessed by ministers and other senior officials.
Dr Sonexay appreciated the assistance offered by various organisations to help rehabilitate the flood-affected.
The donations will be passed on to responsible organisations who are carrying out relief works across the country.
The Prime Minister said the flooding is intense across the country this year, and many people have lost their livelihood and property.
He requested other businesses to support the government’s endeavours to help the flood-affected people. The government and various other organisations are reaching out to help victims in the remotest of areas.
