Huawei Laos “Seeds for the Future 2021” project ends successfully with inspiring closing ceremony

Huawei Laos conducted the closing ceremony of the “Seeds for the Future 2021” project and handed over training completion certificates to trainees online, on October 20, 2021.
CEO of Huawei Technologies (Lao) Sole Co., Ltd., Mr Kevin Hu, Director General of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Sports, Assoc. Prof. Dr Saykhong Saynasine, and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Laos, Dr Somphone Kanthavong, presented and witnessed this inspiring closing ceremony.
The “Seeds for the Future” project is Huawei’s global flagship CSR programme for education. It focuses on long-term collaboration in the fields of traditional culture education and advanced ICT knowledge such as 5G, AI, and Cloud Computing Introduction.
Huawei Laos “Seeds for the Future 2021” project took place online over eight days from September 22 to 29, 2021. There are two types of training courses, live-stream and pre-recorded courses.
At the closing ceremony, Mr Kevin Hu, expressed his appreciation to the students who had completed the training.
“ICT is a very important factor, now and in the future, as well as being a key driver of growth in many industries. After completion of the training, I sincerely hope that the students will be able to apply the knowledge they have gained in their careers, to drive the country’s economic and social development,” he said.
Assoc. Prof. Dr Saykhong Saynasine expressed his gratitude and said, “On behalf of the Ministry of Education and Sports, I would like to thank the CEO of Huawei Laos for giving importance and support to such a project to assist the Ministry of Education and Sports and the government of Laos in building human resources in telecommunications, technology and ICT, which will be a good foundation for students to continue to learn and become the seeds of the future for Laos and China.”
Dr Somphone also expressed his gratitude, saying “Congratulations on the success of the Seeds for the Future 2021 training programme. This is a good sign that all parties, both public and private, have a common goal - to promote education personnel in response to the needs of society, especially to raise the quality of education in Laos to standards acceptable in the region and internationally.

Huawei announced its Seeds for the Future Programme 2.0 in July, through which Huawei plans to invest another US$150 million in digital talent development globally over the next five years. This programme is expected to benefit more than 3 million additional people.
