Huawei Laos contributes telecommuting equipment to Lao Prime Minister Office in response to the Covid-I9 pandemic

Huawei Technologies (Lao) Sole Co., Ltd donated telecommuting equipment worth 350 million kip to Lao Prime Minister Office on May 7th, helping to improve government remote working environment in the severe pandemic.

 

The donation was presented in Vientiane by CEO of Huawei Laos, Mr Hu Weihua to Minister, Head of the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr Khamjane Vongphosy and witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, Deputy Prime Minister Prof. Dr Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune.
Dr Kikeo and Mr Khamjane praised Huawei Laos for its continuous efforts to help Laos society to fight the pandemic ever since its outbreak. Furthermore, they said this donation demonstrates the importance and commitment of Huawei to Lao society, not only with its technological advancement, but also its social values,  as well as its contribution to long term digital Lao vision.
At the same time, Mr Khamjane expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Huawei achievements in terms of technology as well as social contribution, saying that this technological contribution will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Prime Minister Office in its role and advance to a more modern system, and hoped that Huawei will continue to make such outstanding achievements.
Mr Hu Weihua thanked Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Lao government’s consistent support to Huawei Laos for more than two decades. As a leader in ICT solutions, Huawei Laos has been developing products, services and solutions for a wide range of industries in recent years, as well as collaborating with many government ministries.
Mr Hu Weihua also said the telecommuting equipment contributed this time will be able to upgrade the office system to be modern and efficient. The equipment can be used to hold video conference with neighbor countries, offices, both central and local remotely, which facilitates communication both internally and externally, making them suitable for use during outbreaks to prevent and control the spread of disease.
