LDB backs NA with funds, vehicles,
computer hardware worth over 1 bn kip

The Lao Development Bank (LDB) has provided vehicles, materials and financial support to the National Assembly (NA) worth more than one billion kip as a social contribution and support for the government’s outstanding achievements.
A ceremony to hand over the donated items took place in front of the National Assembly building on Monday, witnessed by the NA’s President, Mr Xaysomphone Phomvihane, and the President of LDB Executive Committee, Mr Chanthanome Phommany.
LDB’s Managing Director, Mr Litsamy Latsavong, handed over the vehicles to NA Secretary General Mrs Pingkham Lasasimma at the event, which was attended by officials from both sides.

This brand new 14-seat VIP minibus will be used by the National Assembly. |
The items handed over included a 14-seat VIP minibus for the National Assembly, an Isuzu pick-up for the NA’s press division, and six computer notebooks for the Secretariat and press divisions.
In addition, the bank provided 200 million kip for the NA’s fund for the press and 30 million kip for food contributions for the ongoing session of the National Assembly. The total support was worth more than 1.2 billion kip.
This contribution from the bank is aimed at supporting the NA and its various departments so they can further contribute to the development of the nation.
Over the years, the LDB has frequently contributed to social development, supported the government in the fight against the Covid-19 outbreak in various provinces, and also aided government agencies.

The bank has also backed the development of tourism and agriculture in order to boost the gradual recovery of the national economy. This was done as part of efforts by the bank and its board of directors to support national construction and development.
On the same occasion, NA President Xaysomphone expressed his sincere thanks to the board of directors of LDB for their contribution and appreciation of the importance of government affairs, especially in relation to the National Assembly.
All of the equipment and funds provided by the bank will be used in a fruitful and beneficial manner by the NA for related works and by the government as whole, he added.
