Minister of Technology and Communications visits Huawei Lao office
Minister of Technology and Communications Prof. Dr Boviengkham Vongdara and his delegation last week visited Huawei Lao to give guidance on the company’s work.
On this occasion, the CEO of Huawei Laos, Mr Hu Weihua, welcomed and reported on the business performance of Huawei Global and Huawei Laos, and addressed the vision of accelerated Digital Laos with ICT as Priority, which includes E-government, Digital customs, Digital tax and Intelligent education.
The minister also visited the online industry innovative technology exhibition hall located in Shenzhen, China, through a teleconferencing system.

On behalf of Huawei Lao, Mr Hu Weihua thanked Prof. Dr Boviengkham Vongdara, Laos’ Minister of Technology and Communications, for their consistent support to Huawei, which has created a good environment for Huawei to keep growing and developing.
Huawei has been doing business in Laos for more than 20 years and will continue to increase cooperation with Lao entrepreneurs in the future to improve the quality of its network and provide better security communication services to the people of Laos.
Huawei will continue to support Laos’ ICT infrastructure and digital economy strategy and continue to invest in the development of ICT capabilities for Laos.
On the occasion of the visit, Minister of Technology and Communication Prof. Dr Boviengkham Vongdara expressed his gratitude to Huawei for hosting the MTC delegation.
“The presentation by your team on Lao digital transformation and e-government solutions is very important, especially the China case sharing on how the government laid down policy so that the ICT industry has been prioritised and included into the national agenda,” he said.
“Huawei is a leading technology provider, with good expertise, know-how and your experiences globally.”
“Since you have been in Laos for more than 20 years, I am sure that your work here has been contributing to Lao ICT development, not just for industry development, but also human resources development and job creation for local ICT workforces.”
“To this end, I want to summarise that I hope Huawei will continue to support MTC and local companies together to grow and to successfully transform Laos into a digital economy and society,” he added.
