HONOR, once a sub-brand of Huawei, became an independent brand in 2020. Despite its independence, HONOR has inherited Huawei’s excellent spirit of innovation and R&D, as well as its manufacturing technology. According to Canalys data, HONOR surpassed Oppo and Apple to become the number one brand in the Chinese market in the third quarter of 2023 with an 18 percent market share. In the global market outside of China, HONOR has performed even better, with growth exceeding 100 percent in 2024 compared to 2023, thanks to breaking through the limitations of Huawei chips and Google services. HONOR’s products, especially those priced above US$600, have been widely favored by consumers globally, joining Apple, Samsung, Huawei, and Google as one of the top 5 brands in terms of high-end smartphone sales.
