Representatives of the two parties signed an agreement on the funding in Vientiane recently. The signing ceremony was attended by the Managing Director of the Lao Development Bank, Mr Viengkham Vansilalom, and the Managing Director of Lanexang Airways International, Ms Thienthong Sopha.
This funding will help the airlines develop new routes and provide high-quality services at a reasonable cost for the premium low-cost airline market in Laos and Southeast Asia. These efforts will also support tourism and the Lao economy and help Lanexang Airways International emerge as a leading airline in the region, while emphasising professional services and being socially and environmentally friendly.
Lanexang Airways International is a 100 percent Lao-owned private airline.. It is a hybrid organisation that combines the strengths of a low-cost airline and a full-service provider, emphasising premium at value-for-money prices, giving another travel option to domestic and international passengers.
Currently, Lanexang Airlines International operates on four routes – Vientiane-Bokeo-Vientiane, Vientiane-Pakse-Vientiane, Vientiane-Xamneua-Vientiane, and Bokeo-Luang Prabang-Bokeo.
In the third and fourth quarters of 2025, the airline will launch more domestic and international routes. It plans to increase its fleet of ATR aircraft from three to five and two airbus in 2025.
