Govt, APDL Solar Power ink MOU on Bolikhamxay solar farm capacity of 100 MW installation
The government and APDL Solar Power Sole Co., Ltd. have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) relating to a feasibility study concerning a solar energy project with a capacity 100 MW installation planned in Bolikhamxay province.
The agreement was signed in Vientiane on Wednesday, marking a significant step forward in the province’s renewable energy transition.
The proposed solar farm will be situated in Nam Ngiep village, Pakxan district, covering an estimated area of 140.23 hectares.

The ceremony was witnessed by Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr Manothong Vongsay, and Vice President of the Bolikhamxay Provincial Administration Committee, Mr Somchai Khounphaxay, along with senior officials from central and provincial government departments.
Under Authorisation No. 26/PM issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on February 19, the Investment Promotion and Management Committee is authorised to oversee the progress of the study.

The feasibility study will assess the technical requirements and environmental impact of the solar farm, ensuring it aligns with the government’s aim to increase the share of clean energy produced by the country’s power grid.
Representatives from APDL Solar Power expressed their commitment to supporting Laos’ green energy goals, noting that the Nam Ngiep site offers high potential for sustainable solar power generation.
The event concluded with a commemorative photo session featuring heads of departments, provincial representatives, and company executives to celebrate the start of the partnership.
