Vientiane Motor Market Sole Co launches BAW brand in Laos

The Vientiane Motor Market Sole Co Ltd (VMM) marked a significant milestone with the launch of BAW vehicles in Laos on March 26 at the Vientiane Eco Motor Expo 2025.
The vehicles were launched at a grand ceremony attended by guests and representatives of BAW Weiqiao Smart Auto International Co Ltd. The Expo is being held at the Lao-ITECC from March 22 to 30.
The President of the Vientiane Motor Market Sole Co Ltd, Mr Daovong Keomanivong, expressed his deep appreciation for the partnership with BAW and outlined VMM’s vision for the Lao market.

Mr Daovong highlighted VMM’s exclusive role as the sole official distributor of BAW vehicles in Laos. He praised BAW’s reputation as a leading private automaker, built on innovation, quality and excellence, and reaffirmed VMM’s commitment to providing affordable yet reliable vehicles and offering Lao consumers greater choice at competitive prices.
BAW (Beijing Automobile Works), under the Weiqiao Smart Auto International Co Ltd, is part of the Weiqiao Pioneering Group, a powerhouse in China’s manufacturing industry. The company, founded in 1951, has expanded its sales channels across 63 countries, aligning with China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
It ranks fourth in China's manufacturing industry and first among Shandong’s enterprises, and has more than 100,000 employees and total assets of 255 billion yuan. In 2023, its sales revenues reached 530 billion yuan, with 12 production bases across China and abroad.
VMM has developed a comprehensive business plan to establish the BAW brand in Laos. Key initiatives include the upcoming launch of a 3S showroom in Vientiane, providing sales, service and spare parts under one roof. The new facility will ensure Lao customers receive top-tier support alongside their vehicle purchases.

As part of the launch at the expo, customers will have the opportunity to test-drive BAW vehicles, experiencing first-hand their superior performance, durability and affordability.
Mr Daovong expressed confidence that with BAW’s strong support and VMM’s dedicated efforts, Lao consumers will embrace the brand and build a long-term relationship of trust and success.
He extended his gratitude to BAW Weiqiao Smart Auto International Co Ltd for its trust and collaboration, and thanked Lao customers for their support, while encouraging them to explore the quality and value that BAW vehicles bring to the market.

With this launch, VMM and BAW plan to redefine the Lao automotive industry, offering world-class vehicles tailored to the needs of local consumers.
BAW Laos offers four types of 100 percent electric cars, including the Brumby mini electric car with a standard price of US$11,000, while the event reservation price will be US$9,500.
The T30 electric cab has a standard price of US$20,900, and the event reservation price is US$18,5500. The T30 electric container has a standard price of US$22,900, and the event reservation price is US$19,55500.
The MPV EM7 electric van has a standard price of US$35,000, and the event reservation price will be US$30,000.
VMM has an exclusive offer for  customers who book vehicles at the event – they will be able to enjoy a free four-day, three-night factory visit to China.
