Alliance Laundry Systems expands ASEAN commercial laundry supply
Alliance Laundry Systems, a global leader in commercial laundry equipment, recently showcased its enhanced manufacturing facility in Chonburi, Thailand, highlighting innovations designed to support growing demand across the Asia-Pacific region, including Laos.
The upgraded 27,000-square-metre factory serves as a regional export hub and features an expanded STAR Lab (Thailand Science Technology Research Laboratory), where advanced laundry technologies are developed and tested before entering the market.
Managing Director for Asia-Pacific at Alliance Laundry (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Mr Ben Dobbs, said the company continues to build on more than 118 years of experience in the commercial laundry industry.
“For more than 118 years, Alliance Laundry Systems has built our reputation on quality, reliability, and continuous innovation in the commercial laundry industry.”
“Our Thailand factory demonstrates how we translate these strengths into smart, efficient solutions that address real operational challenges while delivering long-term value and quality for investors and businesses. By combining advanced engineering, precision manufacturing, and the region’s first STAR Lab, we are well positioned to deliver products that support operational efficiency and long-term business needs,” Mr Dobbs said.
According to the company, demand for commercial laundry services is rising across the Asia-Pacific due to urbanisation, growth in the middle class, and expansion of the hospitality sector.

In Laos, consumers are increasingly turning to laundromats for convenience, while hotels are outsourcing laundry operations to reduce costs, labour requirements, and operational risks. Growing awareness of energy efficiency and sustainable business practices is also encouraging businesses to seek more efficient laundry solutions.
Alliance Laundry Systems has identified Laos as an emerging market for self-service laundromat businesses. By the end of 2025, the company had supported a number of laundromat operations in Laos, mainly in Vientiane, with interest beginning to spread to other cities.
During a media visit to the Thailand facility, company representatives said exposure to laundromat services in Thailand has helped increase acceptance of the business model among Lao consumers.
“We have seen positive feedback from laundromat operators in Laos over the past few years,” said Sales Director for Southeast Asia at Alliance Laundry Systems, Mr Sukree Kirai.
“As awareness continues to grow, we believe Laos has strong long-term potential for this business model.”
The factory uses German-engineered precision machinery and advanced technologies such as rapid prototyping and computer-aided engineering to design, test and validate products before full production.
The company said this approach helps improve reliability, shorten development times and ensure products meet international standards.
Each machine is designed to reduce water and energy consumption while supporting a longer operating life, helping businesses improve efficiency and lower operating costs.
One of the latest products developed at the facility is Stax-X, an industrial stacked washer-dryer solution designed for first-time business owners, small and medium-sized enterprises, and operators with limited space.
Available under the company’s Speed Queen, Huebsch, IPSO and Primus brands, Stax-X combines commercial-grade washing and drying functions in a vertical design. The machine offers programmable cycles and flexible pricing tools and is available in 14kg and 23kg capacity models.
The technology was developed and tested at STAR Lab, Alliance Laundry Systems’ first regional research and development centre.
Beyond equipment manufacturing, the company also focuses on long-term customer support through training, maintenance services and spare parts provided by regional distributors.
“Investors don’t just buy machines. They need support throughout the business from start to finish. That’s why every decision we make, from engineering to distribution to service, is designed to protect their investment and support their returns over the long term,” Mr Dobbs said.
Alliance Laundry Systems serves about 150 countries worldwide and employs more than 4,000 people. Its portfolio includes the Speed Queen, UniMac, Huebsch, Primus and IPSO brands, offering a full range of commercial laundry solutions for businesses of all sizes.
