Agriculture ministry unveils online platform to streamline imports, exports

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has adopted the online Agro-Link system as part of efforts to modernise the management of agricultural imports and exports.
The new digital platform launch recently was attended by Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, and Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Dr Linkham Douangsavanh.
The system expected to strengthen data management, improve transparency, reduce processing times, and support the government’s ambitions to expand agricultural production and exports.
The move reflects the government’s broader efforts to address economic and financial challenges while advancing national policies to create a more independent and self-reliant economy.
The Agro-Link system will enable authorities to efficiently monitor, record, and report agricultural trade activities in real time, while improving coordination among the relevant sectors.
The system will support implementation of the 10th five-year National Socio-Economic Development Plan, particularly the goal of maintaining average agricultural growth at 4.1 percent annually, contributing 20.7 percent to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and increasing the value agricultural exports to US$1.9 billion a year.
The platform is designed to streamline import and export procedures for businesses, reduce operational costs, shorten processing steps, and provide access to accurate trade information.
