L-JATS celebrates 25 years of airport terminal service in Laos
 
Laos-Japan Airport Terminal Service (L-JATS) on Friday marked its 25th anniversary of operations in Laos with a grand celebration that also included a strong pledge to build on its successes of the past 25 years.

L-JATS provides services exclusively for international flights at Wattay International Airport.
The celebration was held at the Saint Phila Hotel in Vientiane and was attended by the Head of Office of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Mr Saleumsack Xaymongkhoun; Director General of the Department of State-Owned Enterprise Reform and Insurance, Ministry of Finance, Mr Phaythoun Thienglamai; Deputy Ambassador of Japan to Laos, Mr Janya Nakano; L-JATS staff, business partners and other invited guests.
Speaking at the event, the General Director of L-JATS, Mr Alounchansay Bounsaythip, said that since its establishment the company has developed in many areas in terms of customer service, human resources, business management, and the regular payment of taxes to the Lao government.
He added “We have upgraded services to an international level, which is reflected in the increase in the number of airlines using the airport every year.”
L-JATS is a joint business operation between the Lao government, represented by the Airport Management Division of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and two Japanese companies.
L-JATS has been providing services since June 7, 1999.
In 2014, the airport management team changed its name to the Lao Airport Management Team and increased their shareholding to 70 percent, while the two Japanese companies now own 30 percent of shares in L-JATS.
