President gives advice to Naxaithong farmers

President Thongloun Sisoulith and his delegation on Friday visited farmers in Naxaithong district, Vientiane, to encourage them to grow more vegetables, raise more poultry and boost output in other areas of agriculture.
The group was welcomed by the Secretary of the Party Central Committee representing the Vientiane Administration, Mr Anouphab Tounalom.
E-lai Neua village in Naxaithong district has received financial support from the Saemaul Globalisation Foundation (SGF) Laos, a village development project authorised by the Mayor of Vientiane, according to Paxason newspaper. The project aims to improve local infrastructure and generate income for villagers and was handed over in 2023.
To help further improve the living standards of poor families, village authorities built a greenhouse in which they could grow vegetables.
SGF also supported vegetable cultivation in E-Lai Tai village by building 20 greenhouses for people to use. Vegetable farmers’ groups in the two villages can now earn about 40 million kip a month.
The President and his delegation also visited a chicken farm in Nakha village, which is located on a 44-hectare site. The farm uses a closed system in which over one million chickens are housed as egg layers.  
Talking to farmers, the President expressed his appreciation for their keen interest in the development of farming facilities as well as the cultivation of organically farmed vegetables on a commercial basis, which enables them to earn more money to support their families.
