The new model provides Lao consumers with an international standard car that is luxuriously fitted out and comes with hi-tech accessories and numerous safety features.
A press conference for media launched for ceremony to launch the Xpeng electric car took place at the company’s showroom in Vatnak village in Sisattanak district, Vientiane, on Friday, and was attended by the Chief Executive Officer of SMP Auto Sole Co. Ltd., Mr Soksavanh Phetrasy, Electrical Technician and Car Engineering, Mr Inthasone Inthavong, and representatives of other organisations.
Mr Soksavanh said the Xpeng was 100 percent electrically powered.
SMP is the sole official distributor of Xpeng cars in Laos and is the offshoot of a company that was established in 2014 in Guangzhou, China, with the cars being top of the range and popular worldwide.
“We decided to bring Xpeng electric cars to Laos because of their high technological standards, superior quality, and the excellent driving experience they provide. The brand is known worldwide and is revered for its luxury, ease of driving, safety features, and engine power. We are confident that, in the future, Xpeng will be a strong competitor with Tesla in the electric vehicle market,” Mr Soksavanh said.
Xpeng’s target is to become the best electric vehicle on the market thanks to its high-quality technology and environmentally-friendly features. The company has a large budget for research and development, with almost 40 percent of all revenue ploughed into ensuring that drivers have the best experience possible thanks to the car’s highly efficient XPILOT system.
XPILOT enables motorists to drive safely while the use of high-quality batteries means they will last for about 8 years and other components of the vehicle are guaranteed for about 5 years.
Mr Soksavanh said SMP is well supported by the parent company and provides efficient after-sales service. Its skilled technicians can carry out speedy repairs to international standards. SMP also carries a large stock of spare parts so that customers are provided with a high level of service.
“We operate a 24-hour emergency service and will do our best to make a good impression at all times. We expect to provide satisfaction and gain the support of customers around the world in the near future, and we have big plans for expansion. We thank everyone who chooses to buy a Xpeng and can assure buyers they will be delighted with their choice,” he added.
