Lao Telecom teams up with Moonton to build Laos' e-sports empire

The Lao Telecom Group has joined forces with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang developer Moonton to help develop Laos' e-sports ecosystem and create more exciting opportunities for young gamers.
A cooperation agreement on e-sports product development and the promotion of e-sports ecosystem products was signed on June 24 in Shanghai, China.
The agreement was signed by the Deputy Director General of the Lao Telecom Group, Mr Niwat Yenkai; Chief Marketing Officer of the Lao Telecom Group, Mr Chanthala Bonnapol; Chief Executive Officer of Tplus Digital Sole Co., Ltd., Mr Phoutthavong Khammavongkeo; and General Director of Lao Mobile Money Sole Company Limited, Mr Alounnadeth Barnchit
The partnership marks another step in the Lao Telecom Group's efforts to support Laos’ digital transformation and strengthen opportunities for young people interested in competitive gaming.
Under the agreement, Lao Telecom Group customers will gain wider access to products and services designed to support e-sports players and help develop future e-sports competitors.
The partnership aims to improve the gaming experience for players of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, one of the world's most popular mobile games. The companies plan to improve network connectivity and reduce latency and lag, allowing players to enjoy smoother and more competitive gameplay.
The agreement also enables players to purchase in-game items and diamonds through the MmoneyX payment application, offering Lao Telecom customers a convenient and secure payment option.
Beyond products and services, the two sides will work together on marketing campaigns, special events, and the promotion of e-sports competitions in Laos and abroad. The cooperation includes support for regional tournaments and the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M Series, one of the world's leading e-sports competitions.
Through access to high-speed internet and stronger digital services, the partnership aims to create an environment where aspiring players can sharpen their skills and pursue opportunities in professional e-sports.
A representative of the Lao Telecom Group said the company was pleased to partner with Moonton to provide customers with opportunities to raise their e-sports skills to a higher level and become part of Laos' future representatives in international competitions.
“This collaboration also promotes the use of our group's products and services and helps us build long-term relationships with our customers,” the representative said.
As e-sports continues to grow across Asia, the partnership reflects the Lao Telecom Group's ambition to place Laos more firmly on the regional e-sports map while helping young players turn their passion for gaming into new opportunities in the digital economy.
