Joint Development Bank launches seamless payment platform

The Joint Development Bank (JDB) launched a new product called the seamless payment platform at the Lao Plaza Hotel in Vientiane on July 1, aiming to provide customers with more convenient services.
The grand opening ceremony was attended by Joint Development Bank’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr Vilay Siphaphone, senior managers, representatives of the Bank of the Lao PDR, and invited guests.

The ceremony was officially opened with a speech by JDB’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr Sakhone Yorphanxay.
He explained the importance of the seamless payment platform, saying this electronic payment system set up by the Joint Development Bank will enable users to make payments by scanning QR codes at stores and vending machines, and using cards at retail stores or online, through the fast, convenient and seamless payment system. It is designed to integrate with online stores, service platforms and Fintech companies, etc.
The Joint Development Bank has also completed the development of new services on the JDB Yes Mobile Banking app to provide more convenience for customers making financial transactions, such as QR scanning to pay for Lao-Thai service fees at 4 banks, namely the Kasikorn Thai Bank, Krungthai Bank, Krungsri Bank and Bangkok Bank, and has also completed the development of Lao Airlines ticket booking services on both domestic and international routes.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director General of the Payment Systems Oversight Department at the Bank of the Lao PDR, Lammone Simmalaivong, praised JDB’s board of high-level executives and experts who participated in the development of the modern electronic payment system that enables users to save both time and money.
Awards were given to the stores that participated in the JDB project and fulfilled the conditions set by the bank. Prizes consisting of five iPhone 15 ProMax smartphones and cash prizes worth 5 million kip were given to five stores that participated in the project and met the requirements of the Joint Development Bank.
JDB is a modern bank with a wide range of business partners. It has provided Payment Platform payment systems for domestic and foreign e-commerce business groups such as Dynamic LAO QR, Deeplink Payment, Visa Payment Gateway, Master Card Payment Gateway, UnionPay Payment Gateway, WechatPay and AliPay.
JDB has developed itself to become a payment hub within ASEAN and internationally and has expanded cooperation with banks in foreign countries.
At present, money can be transferred abroad via the Joint Development Bank to more than 100 countries.
