They gathered for a group photo during a visit to the WWDA when they donated Lao rice and noodle products to the association with support from the Global Friends. This year, Global Friends celebrates its 20th anniversary. Founded on the principle of “doing small but necessary work”, the Seoul-based non-profit has spent two decades supporting marginalised communities in Korea and contributing to education and postwar recovery efforts in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. True to its grassroots spirit, the organisation has sustained its heartfelt volunteerism through small contributions from ordinary citizens, rather than relying on large-scale funding.
