President meets young leaders from Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia

The President of Laos and Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Mr Thongloun Sisoulith, on July 14 met young leaders from Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia taking part in a training course in Vientiane.
The course, held from July 8-15, brought together young people from the border provinces of the three countries under the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party’s initiative to deepen cooperation with the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Cambodian People’s Party.
President Thongloun welcomed the visitors and praised the success of the third young leader training programme hosted by Laos.
The training programme supported the agreement made by the top leaders of the three par-ties, and showed strong political will to strengthen ties at all levels, he said.
He praised delegates for their open, honest discussions and creative exchange of ideas, especially in areas such as socio-economic development, tourism, and culture.
These exchanges would support each country’s development and help strengthen their longstanding friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, he said.
The relationship between Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia is inseparable, he added, and is founded on shared history, solidarity, and mutual support.
This relationship, he said, played a vital role in past struggles for national liberation and remains crucial to current and future efforts in national defence, development and modernisation.
President Thongloun also outlined the progress made in meeting the goals of the government’s two National Agendas, the results of the 10th Plenum of the 11th Party Central Committee, and preparations for the 12th Party Congress in early 2026.
He urged delegates to value and strengthen the friendship between the three Indochinese nations and to carry forward the legacy of cooperation among the three parties and peoples.
On behalf of the visiting delegations, a representative thanked President Thongloun for his warm and sincere welcome, which reflected his strong support for young leaders.
Meeting participants pledged to follow his advice and contribute to the development of their countries and the unity of the three nations.
They also promised to protect and build on their shared friendship and cooperation for peace and development in the region and the world.
