Lao Gold Festival 2026 to return with expanded international focus, boosting nation’s gold industry
The Lao Gold Festival 2026 will return for its second edition during September 4-6 at the National Convention Centre in Vientiane, with the organisers aiming to strengthen the country’s gold industry through greater international cooperation, innovation and investment.
The festival was officially announced at a news conference in Vientiane on August 7, which was attended by the Chairman of the Vientiane Administration Committee, Mr Sililatthongsinh Thongpheng, the President of the Lao Gold, Jewellery and Gemstone Association, Mr Phouvong Phamisith, senior officials, representatives of government agencies, business associations and financial institutions, entrepreneurs and partners.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of the Lao Bullion Bank Co., Ltd, Dr Chanthone Sitthixay, said the festival will build on the success of the inaugural event in 2025 by promoting higher standards, expanding business opportunities, and strengthening international partnerships across the gold industry.
The three-day festival is being organised by the Lao Bullion Bank Co., Ltd, in collaboration with the Lao Gold, Jewellery and Gemstone Association, the Lao Handicraft Association, government agencies, private sector bodies and domestic and international partners.
Held under the theme of “Lao Gold to the World – Elevating the Lao Gold Industry through Connectivity and Collaboration, Building Trust and Growing Together”, the festival aims to promote the quality and competitiveness of Lao gold products and simultaneously enhance transparency, consumer confidence and regional and international market access.
Dr Chanthone, who is also the Chairman of the Lao Gold Festival 2026 Organising Committee, said the festival will become an annual event that supports the growth of the gold industry, provides opportunities to promote tourism and contributes to the overall development of Laos.

The festival will serve as a national platform for showcasing Lao gold, jewellery, silk and handicrafts, and also bringing together producers, craftsmen, designers, investors, financial institutions and international partners to exchange knowledge, share technology and explore new business opportunities.
The event will feature exhibitions and showcase new designs, modern production methods and creative approaches to help businesses adapt to changing consumer demands.
A joint gold and silk fashion show will demonstrate the creativity and beauty of Lao craftsmanship, while business networking activities will connect entrepreneurs, investors and international partners to explore cooperation opportunities.
The festival will also feature exhibitions of gold, jewellery, gemstones, silk and handicrafts, alongside seminars and forums on the global gold market, investment, wealth management, technology and the future development of the industry.
Other activities include an international exhibition zone, cultural performances, concerts and entertainment programmes, as well as demonstrations of the LBB PLUS digital platform, which will support visitor registration and promote secure and transparent digital gold services.
The organising committee expects about 100,000 visitors to attend the three-day event, including entrepreneurs, investors, academics, representatives of financial institutions and industry, and members of the public from Laos and abroad.
Dr Chanthone said the Lao Gold Festival will create a foundation for stronger industry growth and combine economic development with cultural preservation. The event will help position Laos as a rising participant in the regional gold market and contribute to long-term socio-economic development, he said.
The organising committee is inviting entrepreneurs, gold traders, manufacturers, artisans, designers, investors, academics, students and the public to attend the festival and explore opportunities to support the continued development of Laos’ gold, jewellery and handicraft sectors.
The Lao Gold Festival aims to preserve local craftsmanship and cultural heritage while promoting higher industry standards, strengthening consumer confidence, and creating new opportunities for sustainable growth in the gold, jewellery and handicraft sectors.
