RMA Laos to host charity golf tournament in support of autism awareness
RMA Laos, in collaboration with the Lao National Golf Federation, has announced a charity golf tournament to be held later this month in support of the Lao Autism Association (AFA), the organiser said on Tuesday.
Under the title, “RMA Golf for Charity 2025”, the first-ever tournament will take place on September 27 from 5am to 3pm at the Long Vien Golf Club in Vientiane.
The event aims to raise funds and increase public awareness about autism in Laos.
Speaking at a press conference, the Managing Director of Automative RMA, Mr Biju Naranyanan, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to social responsibility, particularly in promoting inclusive opportunities for individuals with autism.

“We recognise the importance of supporting people with autism in Laos and are proud to contribute to the work of the Lao Autism Association,” he said, adding that this first-ever charity golf tournament is just the start of the initiative and there will be more events to come.
The Vice President of the Lao National Golf Federation, Mr Songkham Silaphet, said the federation was delighted to team up with RMA Laos to organise the tournament to raise funds for the Lao Autism Association.
There will be 20 prizes up for grabs for the winners and runners-up in various categories of the tournament, including a special prize of a Ford Ranger pick-up truck.

The President of the Lao Autism Association, Mr Sisavang Sayavong, said the association is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping individuals with autism through education, therapy, and employment support.
The association was established in 2012 by the parents and guardians of children with autism.
“Our association has more than 170 members and 100 students with autism are now registered with the autism centre,” he said.
Mr Sisavang added that the money raised by the golf tournament will be used to renovate the autism centre in Vientiane.
The press conference was also attended by the Brand Manager of Carlsberg at the Lao Brewery Company, Mr Souliya Phantavong, and other guests.
The registration fee for the tournament is 1.8 million kip per person, with all proceeds going directly to the AFA.
Participants will receive a complimentary shirt, cap, and umbrella, and can look forward to food and drinks throughout the day, as well as prizes for the top three players.
Organisers encourage all golf enthusiasts and community members to take part in this meaningful event.
