FINA promotes financial literacy at Lao gold festival

FINA Deposit-taking Microfinance Institution Ltd. used the Lao Gold Festival 2026 to promote saving habits and better financial management among the public.
Held in Vientiane from September 4-6, the three-day event gave FINA an opportunity to meet customers, entrepreneurs and members of the public face-to-face.
The institution presented its financial products and services while sharing practical knowledge under the concept of making financial services “convenient, accessible and easy to understand”.
The activities went beyond introducing financial products. FINA used the event to encourage people to develop good financial habits and make informed decisions about their money.

A key focus was financial literacy. FINA shared advice on financial planning, saving regularly, and managing income and expenses.
The institution also highlighted the safe and responsible use of digital payments, an increasingly important part of everyday financial activities.
For many people, managing money well starts with simple habits. Setting aside part of an income, planning expenses and understanding financial products can help households prepare for future needs.
FINA said its approach is not only about providing financial services. It also aims to help customers understand how to use financial tools properly and build greater long-term financial stability.
The festival also gave visitors a chance to speak directly with FINA staff. An open space allowed interested people to ask questions, seek advice and learn more about available financial services.
Prize-giving activities and a forum on financial knowledge added to the programme, creating opportunities for visitors to engage with the institution in a more informal setting.
One of the key offers introduced during the festival was a special fixed-deposit promotion, with an interest rate of up to 13.5 percent per year.
The promotion allowed interested customers to learn more about fixed deposits, ask questions and consider savings options based on their financial goals.
The focus on saving was particularly relevant at a festival centred on gold, an asset often associated with wealth and long-term value. FINA’s message encouraged visitors to also consider financial planning and disciplined saving as part of building financial security.
The event also helped FINA strengthen its relationship with customers and raise awareness of its work to make financial services more accessible.
FINA said it will continue developing its products, services and financial innovations to match changing lifestyles and customer needs.
The institution plans to continue promoting financial knowledge and discipline while supporting wider access to financial services.
Through these efforts, FINA aims to help people build a stronger financial foundation while contributing to sustainable economic development in Laos.
