Hongyun Group launches Li Auto in Laos with five new models
The Hongyun Group has officially launched Li Auto in Laos, introducing five new vehicle models to the Lao market as the Chinese intelligent electric vehicle maker expands its presence in Southeast Asia.
The official launch and sales event, held on September 12, marked the formal entry of Li Auto into the Lao automotive market, with the company presenting the Li L9, Li L7, Li L6, Li i6 and Li i8 models.

Li Auto, founded in 2015, is listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market in the United States and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Over the past decade, the company has developed its concept of creating a “mobile home”, combining vehicle technology, comfort and intelligent functions to meet the needs of modern families.

Looking ahead to its next decade, Li Auto aims to bring greater intelligence to vehicles and transform them into a “third space” capable of sensing, analysing and better understanding users.
The company’s design philosophy focuses on exterior proportions and form while placing greater emphasis on comfort and practicality inside the cabin, particularly for families. Its vehicles integrate intelligent technologies designed to continuously improve their capabilities through software and artificial intelligence.
At the launch event, the Hongyun Group introduced five models representing different segments and driving needs.
Li L9: Flagship large SUV
The Li L9 is the flagship large SUV in the Li Auto family and is designed to deliver a premium experience for families. It is equipped with a 1.5T range-extender system and dual electric motors with all-wheel drive, producing a combined output of 420 kW. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 4.9 seconds.
According to the specifications presented at the event, the L9 can travel up to 420 kilometres in pure electric mode under the CLTC standard, while its combined range reaches up to 1,650 kilometres.
Inside, the L9 features a 29-inch 6K panoramic display, a 21-inch 4K rear entertainment display, four Zero Gravity seats and a Star Ring Theater sound system with an output of 5,440 watts.
For intelligent driving, the L9 is equipped with Li Auto’s self-developed Mach M100 intelligent computing chip, offering up to 1,280 TOPS of computing power per chip. The L9 is positioned as a premium family SUV focused on spaciousness, comfort, intelligent technology and long-distance travel.
Li L7: Large five-seat luxury SUV
The Li L7 is a large five-seat SUV designed for families seeking spaciousness, comfort and a premium driving experience. It features a 1.5T range-extender system and dual electric motors with all-wheel drive, producing a combined output of 330 kW. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.
The L7 offers a pure-electric CLTC range of up to 286 kilometres and a combined driving range of up to 1,421 kilometres. The model is aimed at families looking for a balance between generous interior space, driving performance and everyday practicality.

Li L6: Mid-to-large range-extender SUV
The Li L6 is a mid-to-large SUV using a range-extender power system and is positioned as a more accessible model within the L-series. It comes with a 51 kWh battery, offering a pure-electric CLTC range of up to 300 kilometres and a combined range of more than 1,400 kilometres.
The vehicle also supports fast charging, with the battery capable of charging from 20 percent to 80 percent in around 12 minutes. The L6 features the Mach M100 intelligent driving chip and Qualcomm 8797 cockpit chip, together with a 29-inch 6K panoramic display.
The model is designed to provide families with a combination of long driving range, intelligent technology, comfort and practicality.
Li i6: New five-seat pure electric SUV
The Li i6 represents Li Auto’s pure-electric SUV lineup and comes with five seats. The model offers a maximum CLTC driving range of up to 720 kilometres. Its front and rear electric motors deliver a combined output of 400 kW, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
The i6 also provides a spacious cabin, with more than 3.3 metres of usable longitudinal interior space. Designed for a new generation of drivers, the i6 combines performance, comfort and AI-powered intelligent vehicle technology in a pure-electric SUV package.
Li i8: Six-seat electric SUV for families
The Li i8 is a six-seat pure-electric SUV designed with larger families in mind. It offers a maximum CLTC range of up to 780 kilometres. With fast charging, 10 minutes of charging can add up to 500 kilometres of driving range, according to the specifications presented at the launch.
The all-wheel-drive version is equipped with dual electric motors producing a combined 400 kW and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. With six seats, long driving range, advanced technology and a spacious interior, the i8 is positioned as a family-oriented electric SUV for both urban use and longer journeys.
Hongyun Group selected as national distributor
The launch also highlighted the partnership between Li Auto and the Hongyun Group, with the Hongyun Group appointed as Li Auto’s national distributor in Laos.

Since May 2026, Li Auto has expanded into several markets in the region, including Macau, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, as part of its broader international expansion.
As one of Laos’ established business groups, the Hongyun Group said it will leverage its local market knowledge to provide customers with an integrated service covering vehicle sales, delivery, test drives and after-sales support.
Bringing intelligent mobility to Lao families
The introduction of the five models provides Lao consumers with a wider choice of vehicle technologies and configurations, ranging from range-extender SUVs in the L series to pure-electric SUVs in the i series.
The models also cover both five-seat and six-seat configurations, giving families more options depending on their travel and lifestyle needs.
Li Auto’s range-extender models offer combined driving ranges of more than 1,400 kilometres in several models, while the company’s pure-electric i-series offers a maximum range of up to 780 kilometres under the CLTC standard.
With the Hongyun Group providing local sales and after-sales services, Li Auto is set to compete in Laos’ rapidly developing automotive market, offering consumers a broader range of intelligent and electrified vehicles.
