Party’s organisation body sets priorities for next five years

Several key directions, including Party building, improving cadre management and modernising administrative work, have been outlined for the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Committee over the next five years.
The priorities were set out during the committee’s 10th Congress on Monday.
The meeting adopted the directions, duties and priorities for organisational and administrative work for 2026-2030, as well as the Organisational and Administrative Work Development Plan for this period.
It also reviewed and approved the Political Report of the 9th-term Party Committee, assessing achievements and shortcomings in organisational and administrative work over the past five years.
The congress also approved the overall leadership review report of the 9th-term Party Central Committee’s Organisation Committee, commending the previous committee for its efforts in leading the implementation of its political duties and achieving positive results.
According to the Office of the Organisation Committee, committee members discussed the restructuring of the committee and its role as an advisory body to the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat and the State on Party building, cadre and civil servant affairs, organisational structure, administration, and emulation and commendation work nationwide.
The congress elected a new 15-member committee, of whom two members are women.
At its inaugural session, the new committee unanimously elected a five-member Standing Committee comprising Ms Sisay Leudetmounsone, Mr Vilayvanh Bouddakham, Mr Done Phaivong, Mr Vanna Boupha and Mr Phonesavanh Xaysana.
Ms Sisay was re-elected Secretary of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Committee, while Mr Vilayvanh was elected Deputy Secretary.
Addressing the congress, Politburo member and Standing Member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, General Vilay Lakhamfong, called on the committee to strengthen its political responsibility, take the lead in political education, and guide the thinking of Party members, cadres and civil servants under its supervision.
He stressed the need to fully implement the resolutions of the 12th National Party Congress, the Party’s Third Political Programme, the Rules of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and resolutions of the Party Central Committee.
He also called for improvements in political, ideological and theoretical work.
General Vilay urged the committee to ensure that Party committees in ministries, other agencies and at the capital and provincial levels give priority to building clean, strong and firm Party organisations.
He stressed the importance of regularly assessing Party organisations and members, recognising outstanding performance, and taking strict disciplinary action against those who violate Party rules, laws and State regulations.
The new committee was instructed to translate the 10th Congress resolution into concrete programmes, projects, directives, mechanisms and regulations.
Other priorities include determining positions and staffing needs, expanding one-stop public services, modernising public administration through digital technologies and artificial intelligence, addressing border-connectivity issues, completing the establishment of subdistricts, and gradually transforming villages into community organisations nationwide.
