EU Green Diplomacy Week highlights plastic-free communities

The European Union will host Green Diplomacy Week 2026 from October 2-11, bringing people together to promote sustainable and inclusive plastic-free communities.

The week will feature a photo competition and a series of free side events, offering opportunities for people to share ideas, discover practical actions and learn more about building a greener and more sustainable future.
Green diplomacy is about working together across borders and communities to address shared environmental challenges. Through dialogue, knowledge exchange and cooperation, the EU aims to support solutions that contribute to a greener, more resilient and sustainable world.
This year’s photo competition takes the theme “Sustainable and Inclusive Plastic-Free Communities”. It invites participants to capture and share images that reflect what a greener future means to them.
