PM expresses sympathy over flooding in Thailand
Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone has sent a message of sympathy to Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul following severe flooding in Bangkok and neighbouring provinces, which has caused widespread damage and personal distress to thousands of people.
In the message dated September 30, Dr Sonexay expressed deep concern and heartfelt sympathy to the Thai government and people, particularly those directly affected by the floods.
His message read: “On behalf of the Government and people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, and in my personal capacity, I wish to express my deep concern and heartfelt sympathy to Your Excellency, the Government and the people of Thailand, especially those affected by the severe flooding in Bangkok and neighbouring provinces of the Kingdom of Thailand, which has caused serious damage to the lives and property of people in the affected areas.
“I firmly believe that, with the close attention Your Excellency and the Government are giving to providing assistance, the people of the Kingdom of Thailand will be able to overcome the hardships caused by this disaster and swiftly restore the affected areas to normal.”
