The partnership aims to bring the public and private sectors together to raise standards in chemical and radiological safety and ensure that related work is carried out rigorously and effectively.
Under the cooperation, the two sides will focus on building capacity and providing technical training in responding to hazardous chemicals. They will also work together to assess risks and promote the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
In addition, the partnership will support the joint development of programmes for the treatment and disposal of industrial chemical waste in line with relevant laws and regulations.
The two sides will also cooperate in calibrating specialised equipment used to monitor and respond to chemical leaks, helping to ensure that such equipment is reliable and ready for use when needed.
The partnership marks an important step towards strengthening chemical and radiological safety in Laos. It aims to help prevent and reduce the impacts of hazardous substances on people’s health, lives, and the environment.
Through stronger cooperation between the government and the private sector, the initiative will also contribute to safeguarding national security and promoting sustainable safety standards in Laos.
