Nam Pien Yorla Pa, located just outside Vientiane, is quickly becoming a top destination for those seeking adventure and stunning natural beauty.

Nam Pien Yorla Pa, in mountainous northern Laos, is well-known for its eco-friendly accommodation, thrilling adventure activities, and commitment to preserving lush forests and diverse wildlife.
Nam Pien Yorla Pa, build by the same developer in the Lao capital, follows this model, proving how ecotourism can drive local development while also protecting nature.
Set in the Phou Khao Khouay protected area, with 5,000 hectares of pristine forest, Nam Pien Yorla Pa offers visitors an immersive experience in nature, further enhancing Laos’ reputation as a sustainable tourism hub.
Opened to the public in 2020, the project aims to blend ecotourism with community involvement.
The developer, Mr Somphet Maopaseuth, shared that Nam Pien Yorla Pa builds on the success of Nam Pien Yorla Pa, creating a new destination that focuses on natural adventure and learning. The project also includes a conservation centre and supports sustainable agriculture.
Recently, Nam Pien Yorla Pa opened a biodiversity museum, which Mr Somphet said was designed to inspire interest in environmental protection and serve as a learning centre. “We want to encourage the younger generation to experience nature firsthand and understand the importance of protecting it,” he said.
The museum features exhibits of reptiles, aquatic life, birds, crops, and other local wildlife, making it an exciting spot for both tourists and students.
For adventure lovers, Nam Pien Yorla Pa offers a range of thrilling activities. Zip-lining through a dense tree canopy, trekking through a forest, and kayaking on a serene river are just a few ways visitors can explore this natural paradise. Hidden waterfalls and rock climbs add to the excitement for those who crave more of a challenge.
Visitors can also enjoy peaceful moments while walking through quiet forest trails, spotting rare wildlife, or simply taking in the fresh mountain air. It’s a perfect place for those who want to disconnect from the busy world and reconnect with nature.
Central to Nam Pien Yorla Pa’s mission is biodiversity protection. The area is home to endangered species, and conservation efforts work hard to ensure tourism does not harm the environment.
Birdwatchers and nature lovers will be especially captivated by the site’s rich biodiversity. The area is home to many rare bird species, while plant enthusiasts will find plenty to admire, from towering trees to delicate orchids.
Nam Pien Yorla Pa is setting a new standard for ecotourism in central Laos. The local community plays a vital role in sustaining the site, ensuring that tourism benefits everyone while preserving the area’s cultural and natural resources for future generations.
Nam Pien Yorla Pa is part of a movement that promotes adventure, conservation, and a deeper connection to nature.
For those looking to explore the beauty of Laos while making a positive impact on the environment, this hidden gem offers an unforgettable, meaningful adventure.
