Good Neighbors Laos provides emergency relief for Luang Namtha

Good Neighbors Laos has carried out a Natural Disaster Response project in collaboration with the Governor of Luang Namtha district to help families affected by the recent flooding.

The organisation provided household essentials such as rice, tinned fish, cooking oil, eggs, instant noodles, mosquito nets, clothing and shoes. Good Neighbors Laos also donated 15 tents for the local government to use as temporary schools and health facilities so that education and health services could be resumed as soon as possible while damaged buildings were repaired.
In further assistance, Good Neighbors Laos has helped out with the renovation and cleaning of schools to ensure a hygienic environment. On October 17, Good Neighbors Laos signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Luang Namtha district governor’s office and immediately distributed food items to families in target villages in cooperation with district authorities.
Representatives of the Global Partnership Centre also assisted with the distribution of food.
Thanks are due to local authorities for their support in delivering food to families in need, including the district governor’s office, the Luang Namtha provincial health department, and military personnel stationed in Luang Namtha district for their hard work.
Additionally, thanks to the Good Neighbors Global Partnership Center provided tents and mosquito nets in Luang Namtha, Laos, and freight transportation cost supported by the European Union Humanitarian Aid
Good Neighbors Laos will go back to Luang Namtha district again soon to conduct the rest of activities to ensure that the support will go to victims on time and to ensure that related residents could recover in quick manner.
