The meeting elected the General Manager of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Vientiane branch, Mr Shen Xue Qin, as the new President of the China General Chamber of Commerce in Laos.

The new executive board will first focus on providing good service to member businesses and safeguarding their rights and interests.
The provision of good service is a top priority for members of the China General Chamber of Commerce and is the overall goal of the chamber.
The new executive board will continue to listen to the needs and voices of chamber members, learn from the advanced experience of other chambers of commerce, strengthen services and improve their quality and efficiency, and revitalise members’ respect for the chamber.

Members of the new and former executive board of the China General Chamber of Commerce gather with government officials after their election.

The board will seek to improve members’ satisfaction with the work of the chamber, and lead members in taking the initiative and actively participating in the affairs of the chamber, so as to further enhance the responsiveness and cohesion of the chamber.
Secondly, the new board will aim to establish a good government-enterprise environment to help members solve their problems.
The new executive board will strive to communicate effectively with government enterprises, represent Chinese businesses in dialogue with the Lao government, respond to the needs of Chinese businesses, and create a healthy and productive business environment.
