Economic challenges, state budgetary plans scheduled for upcoming NA session
The government’s report on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan, the state budgetary plan and the 2024 currency plan as well as the plan for 2025 are among key issues on the agenda for the next session of the National Assembly (NA).

The National Assembly’s 8th Ordinary Session of the 9th legislature, scheduled to be held from November 18 to December 11, will include several important debates and essential issues related to urgent plans to resolve economic, financial and investment matters, a senior NA official told reporters at a news conference on November 13.
The Secretary of the National Assembly, Mrs Amphayvone Lombounpheng, told the media on November 13 that several important tasks will be considered during the upcoming National Assembly session. The session will also adopt amended and drafted laws in different fields to spur efficient socio-economic development and social order.
The government’s report on the draft strategic plan for the management and development of agricultural land until 2030 and the vision until 2040 is also on the agenda, Mrs Amphaivone said.
In addition, the state budgetary plan for 2025 and the budget allocation plan for ministries, organisations and localities for 2025 will be discussed at the session.
At the same time, the government will report on the implementation of the education system reform strategy, and the development of national human resources in the past as well as the future plans.
The evaluation of the organisation and implementation of four laws - the Law on Education, the Law on the Control of Alcoholic Beverages, the Law on Labour, and the Law on Labels - will be presented to the NA.
The report of the state audit agency on the implementation of the work for 2024, the activity plans and the 2025 plan will be presented to the NA.
The report of the National Committee on progress in amending the Constitution of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic of 2015 and work on creating and amending laws will be taken up at the NA session.
The two-week session of the NA, which excludes weekends, will approve a total of 20 NA resolutions.
