Deputy PM moves to PM’s office, new Foreign Minister announced
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Saleumxay Kommasith, is shifting to the Prime Minister’s Office in the latest cabinet reshuffle, announced on Monday at the National Assembly (NA).
With Mr Saleumxay continuing to hold the post of Deputy PM, the post of Foreign Minister will now be taken up by the Head of the External Relations Committee of the Party Central Committee, Mr Thongsavanh Phomvihane.
Vice President of the NA, Mrs Sounthone Sayachack, announced the changes on the first day of the 8th Ordinary Session of the NA’s 9th legislature.
The announcement was made per the approval of the reshuffle made by the NA’s Standing Committee at its extraordinary meeting on November 15, with PM Sonexay Siphandone proposing the change.
