DoubleTree by Hilton Vientiane: A Landmark in Lao Hospitality

The grand opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Vientiane was celebrated with a prestigious event attended by distinguished guests, including Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, ambassadors, business leaders, and other prominent figures.

This landmark achievement highlights Laos’ growing hospitality sector, proudly led by the TK Group, a 100 percent Lao-owned enterprise, in partnership with the globally renowned Hilton brand.
In his opening remarks, the CEO and Founder of TK Group, Mr Thatnakhone Thammavong, emphasised the significance of the project, saying: “DoubleTree by Hilton Vientiane is a 100 percent Lao-owned hotel under the globally recognised Hilton brand. This collaboration demonstrates the strength of Lao enterprise in delivering world-class hospitality while promoting our rich cultural heritage.”
Spanning eight floors with 188 luxurious guest rooms, the hotel combines modern design with elements inspired by traditional Lao craftsmanship.
The architecture reflects the intricate patterns of Lao textiles, and the interiors are adorned with antiques, historical paintings, and artworks by local artists. Further showcasing a commitment to the local economy, the hotel prioritises Lao-made products, including kitchenware and locally sourced ingredients.
Mr Thatnakhone acknowledged the vital role played by the Lao government in facilitating the project “This hotel reflects the Lao government’s policy to stimulate economic growth through investments in the service sector. The support from officials has been instrumental in making this vision a reality,” he said.
He also highlighted the hotel’s readiness to host major international events, having already accommodated dignitaries during the ASEAN Summit, including India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A Global Partnership with Local Roots
Rudolf Troestler, Regional General Manager for DoubleTree by Hilton, commended the successful partnership with the TK Group, saying: “This opening represents Hilton’s 10th market in Southeast Asia and demonstrates our commitment to delivering world-class hospitality while embracing local ownership. We are proud to join the TK Group in establishing the DoubleTree by Hilton Vientiane as a cornerstone of hospitality in this vibrant community.”
The hotel features comprehensive amenities, including meeting and event spaces, a rooftop pool, and a fitness centre, making it a prime destination for both business and leisure travellers. Its central location near key attractions and the Mekong River further enhances its appeal.
A New Era for Lao Hospitality
DoubleTree by Hilton Vientiane is more than a new hotel; it symbolises a significant advancement in Laos’ tourism and hospitality industry.
By blending global standards with local values, the hotel sets a benchmark for future developments.
Mr Thatnakhone added: “We hope this hotel will serve as a source of pride for Laos and a hub for visitors worldwide to experience our warm hospitality. Your continued support and feedback will help us grow and further elevate the standards of Lao hospitality.”
